Angel Oquendo was born and raised in The Bronx, New York and has traveled the world while proudly serving in the U.S. Army. He's worked at the National Security Agency, the Central Intelligence Agency and held Top Secret security clearances. He's had a number of diverse and interesting jobs to include that of a telecommunications engineer, a licensed real estate agent, and even a radio disc jockey! Then he found his true calling...ACTING!

As a professional actor (SAG/AFTRA/AEA) Angel’s work has been featured on TV, in Films, and on the Stage. He’s had guest appearances on a number of TV shows to include: ER, Monk, Bones, FBI Files, Hack, America's Most Wanted (as a good guy!), just to name a few. Commercials include national spots for McDonald's, Mega Millions Lottery and others.

On Film, Angel was most recently cast in a supporting role for the Feature Film 1408 starring John Cusack, Oscar® nominee Samuel L. Jackson, and Mary McCormack. Directed by Mikael Håfström, the film is based on the Stephen King short horror story and tells the tale of a supernatural writer who attempts to disprove the myth surrounding the notorious room 1408 in a New York City hotel.

Prior to 1408, Angel was cast in a supporting role for the Feature Film Ocean’s 13 starring Oscar® winners George Clooney, Matt Damon and Al Pacino, Oscar® nominees Brad Pitt, Don Cheadle, Elliot Gould and Andy Garcia alongside Bernie Mac and slew of other amazing actors. Directed by Oscar® winner Steven Soderbergh, we follow Danny Ocean’s continuing exploits with his merry band of thieves.

Prior to Ocean’s 13, Angel wrapped filming a supporting role on the independent Feature Film King of California starring Oscar® winner Michael Douglas and Evan Rachael Wood. Directed by writer and first-time director Michael Cahill, it follows the story of an unstable dad who is released from a mental institution and tries to convince his daughter that there’s gold buried somewhere in California. King of California was screened at the Sundance Film Festival®, and will be released theatrically September 14th!

Angel has studied at the legendary HB Studios in New York City, studied and performed Improv with Second City in Los Angeles and has received training at The Shakespeare Theatre and Woolly Mammoth Theatre in Washington, DC. Currently, he continues to keep his instrument sharp and studies with Ivana Chubbuck in her Master Class in Los Angeles.

In his spare time, Angel regularly volunteers to work with children that are “at-risk” and enjoys making a difference in their lives. He also volunteers to speak at acting workshops for new and upcoming actors with his series TIPS FOR THE WORKING ACTOR, BY A WORKING ACTOR©.
